Teaming up with Greg over 5 years ago was, quite simply, life-changing. Trouble is …I’ve kept on running marathons since then!

Greg’s approach to weight loss is straightforward- it’s evidence-based and DOESN’T include fads or ‘miracle diets’….AND it can be sustained in the long term.

I continued to eat, drink and enjoy things that I liked whilst losing all that weight. I didn’t have to give up chocolate or wine or feel deprived of anything or cut anything out because it was all within a sensible and sustainable eating plan.

This is still the case now and I believe this is a major factor in being able to maintain my new weight.

However I decided to give it a go since I wanted to improve my core strength to help my Capoeira practice. “I’ve been training for over 25 years – I was training consistently but with very little progression over long periods of time. I achieved greater increases in strength than I expected – way more really. I expected that as someone who was already training consistently then any strength increases would be somewhere between 5-10% – in fact, it’s been more like 25%-50% across different exercises in four weeks.

I am definitely happy with the results – wasn’t one workout where I didn’t see a progression in each exercise – either reps going up or weight going up. (It is a)…simple training plan with fewer exercises….clear target each workout which motivated me to achieve it. Having a 4 week assessment to measure progress was also a key motivator plus knowing a group of people are undertaking the same programme adds something that isn’t part of an individual training routine – it’s inspiring to read about how other people are progressing.]

I would highly recommend the Turn Back Time programme… I would be confident that the programme will work well for individuals with little previous strength training but based on my experience I’d consider that it can also be highly effective for individuals with any level of previous strength training background.”

I have been on every slimming plan there is (or I thought I had) including Weightwatchers, Scottish Slimmers, Slimming World, and all the faddy ones!! Never tried calorie counting or using My Fitness Pal though. All the classes were effective in some way but hard to stick to and keep it up. I’ve found counting calories and using the App very beneficial and easy to keep track of what I am eating. The good thing is I don’t deprive myself of anything and I can eat out in comfort – I just watch what I am eating and count it in.

When I started the 30 day challenge I was very, very unfit – struggling to walk up hills or run for the bus. I did not do any exercise at all. I was also feeling quite depressed about my weight. The vision I had was a terrible picture someone took on Christmas day which shocked me into doing something – I looked like a blob! So in early January I saw Greg’s email about the 30 day challenge and I signed up. It came just at the right time for me.

The course was different to others I had tried because I felt Greg was always there to answer any questions or provide support. His daily motivational emails kept me going and going to the classes every week has made me feel fitter than I have in a very long time.

I have benefited both physically and mentally from doing this course and would recommended it to others – not because it is easy – but because it is hard and you have to push yourself to keep it up. At the end of the 30 days I am just over 11 pounds lighter (nearly a stone!) and have lost a few inches of my measurements too.

The better news is I will soon need a new wardrobe of clothes – because I am going to keep going, because this really works!
